The great new blog My Strange Hands recently posted my Speaker Test Mix. This blog from the main homie, Da Fop, is killing it right now. Check it out, bookmark it, then check it out some more. Always fresh.

Lovefingers

So I know that its been a while since I shared any music with you, but when you aren't paying for internet you have to deal with bad signals sometimes. With summer hear my musical inspiration is coming in a more mellow form. Lovefingers is a really low key guy and theres not alot of info out there about him. I guess he is too busy making amazing tracks like this one. Great for days by the pool or on long Kentucky drives.

so funny, especially since da fop just told me to spray my hair down...too funny

spotted via I Wish You Would

Gymkhata

I have been waiting for a embed link on this video for almost a month. Typically Im not a fan of drifting or import cars or things like that but when the guy that owns DC shoes and Monster Energy drink (Ken Block) makes a video to show off his driving skill, I will pay attention. I highly recommend full screening this one. Its great. Really.

Maybe you were lucky enough to catch them at Bonnaroo. Or maybe like me you came across them through a remix. However you found out I hope you are as glad as I am that you did. PREPMODE

I really love finding people who have come from southern Indiana and that have moved out onto bigger and better things. Not knocking where I am from but if you have ever been there you know that there are not alot of oppertunities, especially in the music business. PREPMODE (myspace) is originally from about 30 miles from where I grew up. After a stint in New York he has found himself in Austin, Texas. A resident at Swerve and a member of The Scratch DJ Academy, PREPMODE has held down the stage with some of the biggest names in the biz. Today I give you his latest mix from Hypersonic Radio. Bmore, club, electro and tons of scratching, listen up.

Redman and Method Man

Without a doubt Redman and Method Man are two of my all time favorite emcees. How can you not love these guys? Maybe its because i know that they love to smoke weed just as much as I do, maybe it was the fact they made a movie called How High, or maybe its just cause they make great music like this. The Blackout 2 is in stores now.

Kostons on SB

So after a couple of weeks of going back and forth about this with Petey, its official and Nike now has one of skateboardings living legends. I cannt wait to see his first pro model. Nike Sb might just be making a comeback. Here's Kostons own words:

“Not only am I psyched to be a part of the great group of guys that makes up the Nike SB team, but I’m equally as excited to work with them creatively. I’m sure many people know that a lot of different Nike’s have been the inspiration for my shoe designs over the last 12 years, so I feel like a fucking kid in a candy store when it comes to this partnership between Nike and I.”

June Mini Mix

Its been such a long time since my last mix, I know. Alot has been going on, but fear not I have two other mixes lined up that should be finished within the next week or so. But on the this mini mix of dancetastic proportions. I tried to get back to the party rocking sound that feels my ears with delight. I love to dance and I love to play music for people to dance to. So get ready to get your boogie on.

Powder P

Now this is my dude! If you ever wondered what would happen if you lived in the middle of no where and had a super large passion for writing and making music, wonder no more. Powder P hails from North Carolina but now resides in southern Indiana. From making his own beats, writing track after track and holding it down as a battle emcee this kid does it all. With a mixtape coming out soon, mixed by yours truly, Powder P is gonna shine hotter than the sun in 2009.

ObityKenobi

I've had the pleasure of being able to play records with ObityKenobi for the better part of the last decade. A true OG in the midwest scene this guy has some of the track selection in the game AND still rocks out with real records, no serato or ableton here kiddies. This mix was recorded live in one take no editing or nothing! I asked for a tracklisting so you guys could bite his tracks but in pure Ty fashion he told me "its all organic, i just play records". When it turns out like this who cares about a tracklisting. Pure underground sounds.

The Glass

This is a bit more indie than I like to post but The Glass come through with an awesome video on this one.

Spaceship

Now I'm no where near a Kanye fan, but Ive loved this track and its a great stuck at work on a thursday kinda song.

Maurice Joshua

Now this track is probably just as old as many of you djs out there. Straight from 1988 Maurice Joshua brings us a dance floor pounder of an acid house track. This guy is straight OG, without him the sound we all know as house, in its many forms, wouldn't be as it is now. So young bucks, do your research and know your roots. This will bang the box just as hard as it did 20 years ago.

Schlachthofbronx

Germany has long been a staple in the production of great electronic music. So its no surprise that Schlachthofbronx hails from the city of Munich. I've really liked most of the 8 bit stuff that Ive heard and when you combine that with a classic like AC/DCs Hells Bells you get something great.

Back To The Berg

Thrasher once again outdid itself over the weekend. The Wallenberg Big Four is a landmark in the skateboarding community, and an obstacle the until recently had only a handful of tricks thrown down it by an even smaller number of people. I think the trick total doubled on this one day alone. Chris Cole and Lindsey Roberson make this set look like nothing. The level has been raised.
